TREP, the TRansposable Elements Platform

Superfamily CACTA                   DTC

Full classification: DNA-transposon, TIR, CACTA

CACTA elements are Class 2 transposons.

They are well characterised in plants. Abundant in higher plants.. The terminal repeats usually end in CACTA (5' end) and TAGTG (3' end).
Upon insertion, they create a 3 bp Target site duplication (TSD).
